• • • As a calligrapher, I will make your projects divinely without question. As a businesswoman, I will acknowledge your opinions and questions with patience and without judgment so that I may answer with the best of intentions. I will try my hardest to give light to your vision and will scour for solutions if I have to. I am honest and will make sure to help with every decision and save you money with some tricks of the trade without compromise to quality and elegance. I will also make sure to run beyond and more so you don't have to. I will hold your hand to keep you calm so you don't panic, and will deliver what you've dreamt since you were a young girl. I believe that everyone should have a chance to receive and enjoy the grandeur and elegance of the handwritten name by making it accessible with quality without sacrificing a weeks worth meal. • • • If you ask her how she knew how to write like that, her simple answer is, "I don't know, that's how it came out!" Her only practice was her note-taking since pre-school until it evolved to her break-out font, the Original Classic Katrina. As she went further in the business, she started creating more fonts; most used to date, her signature Royale Katrina font. With this innate skill, she is able to manipulate her letters to fit her clients wishes and uses this advantage to finish her work with precision and speed. More tails and swirls? -Done! Tone it down? -No problem.
• • • Katrina's whole family has always been business savvy, but she used her own dedication to leap. At the age of 21, she graduated with a 4.0 GPA and received a gold tassel and Presidents Award at Le Cordon Bleu. She burned bridges and took her newfound love and passion -calligraphy, stationery, weddings, and events- to a whole new level. As brides started asking for menus and hand-written invitations, she packed her library with bridal books and magazines. The epiphany came and she created MAISON DU PAPIER.
CALLIGRAPHY KATRINA
• • • CALLIGRAPHY KATRINA is the brainchild of its highly artistic and talented founder, Katrina Lariza Centeno. Kat, as she is fondly called, started calligraphy through the prodding of her friend, Jen, who saw her doodling one day. Jen, then an upcoming bride looking for someone to write her entire wedding invitation suite and after several coaxing, was finally able to convince Kat to do it for her. That initial project landed a very encouraging write-up in the famous wedding blog, Project Wedding. Consequently, her innate writing skill finally found its way from her adopted home in Pasadena, California to the celebrity-infested, western side of SoCal, popularly known as Beverly Hills. What began as a trickle of hesitant brides soon blossomed into a hoard of excitedly anticipating brides overly eager enough to trust their once-in-a-lifetime wedding into Katrina's fabled hands. PR companies followed suit. CALLIGRAPHY KATRINA was finally born. In less than 2 years, at a relatively young age of 21, Katrina's distinctive calligraphic styles have become a byword synonymous to luxury, class, and hauteur. To date, CALLIGRAPHY KATRINA's rapidly growing prominent clientele includes Mercedes Benz, Maybach, Versace, and Berenger Vineyards, to name a few.
• • • CALLIGRAPHY KATRINA specializes in providing personalized beauty and sophistication to every set of invites, place card, menu and other hand-written paraphernalia necessary to make a brides dream come to life on her wedding day. With each stroke is a promise of pristine elegance only a professional calligrapher like Katrina can bring. The speed with which her projects are completed is by itself a force to reckon with. • • • The idea is for the client and Katrina to build these stationery suites together. It will give the client the capability to choose any setting from Katrina's collection or from scratch with the blend of different hues of color, textures of paper, and techniques such as stamping and embossing. With their choice from any of Katrina's fonts, she will make a master copy, which will be used as a template for mass-production. Katrina's belief of Accessible Quality is met as the prices are very affordable and will work with any budget. It is a process, but the yield is of elegance, creativity, and unique with character that a bride can be truly proud of.
